David Wanninger Obituary

David Hunter Wanninger
NORTH AUGUSTA, SC - Mr. David Hunter Wanninger, 28, son of Paul and Amy Wanninger, died on Saturday, March 19, 2016, after a brief illness.
His memorial service was held at 2:00 PM on Friday, March 25, 2016 in the Chapel of Rowland Funeral Home with Rev. Philip McNeal officiating. The family received friends one hour prior to the memorial service.
David was born on December 27, 1987. He is also survived by two brothers, Matthew (Christy) Wanninger and Stuart Wanninger, both of N. Augusta; paternal grandmother, Betty Wanninger of N. Augusta; maternal grandparents, Glenn (Betty) Hunter of Orangeburg, SC; aunts, Nina (Norman) Covar of N. Augusta, Jean Covington of Aiken, SC, and an uncle, Ernie Wanninger of N. Augusta; a niece, Waverly Wanninger; several beloved cousins, Wyatt (Calli) Wanninger, Ashlyn Wanninger, Bryan (Katie) Covar, Marcus (Rachael) Covar, all of N. Augusta, and Hunter Covington of Aiken; as well as other extended family. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Louie Wanninger and his uncle, Colin Covington.
David was an avid golfer and nature lover. After attending North Augusta High School, he proceeded to satisfy his wanderlust and love of both golf and nature, and for the last several years, he worked as an assistant golf professional in Cashiers, N.C., Laquinta, CA, and Big Sky, MT. He especially fell in love with the beautiful scenery that God had created in the places he worked, and he developed his hobby of landscape photography. David was loved by many friends who enjoyed his charm, wit, and sense of adventure. His life was short, but he had a positive and lasting impact on those who knew and loved him.
Honorary pallbearers were Mathew Spires, Chip Stewart, and Jackson Webb.
The family suggests that, in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to a charity of one's choice.
