William Gustav Priefert, 70, Altus, passed away on Thursday, July 21, 2016, in Lawton, Oklahoma. Memorial services will be 2:00 PM Monday, July 25, 2016 at the Prince of Peace Catholic Church with Deacon Eulis Mobley officiating. Services will be under the direction of the Kincannon Funeral Home.
William was born on October 16, 1945 in Lincoln, Nebraska to Emory Gustav and Genevieve Ione (Hall) Priefert. He married Sarah McDonald in Middleborough, Massachusetts on June 2, 1978. He owned and trained greyhounds for several years. William was a machinist for Turbines, Inc for more than 20 years before retiring. He was a member of the Prince of Peace Catholic Church and the NRA. He enjoyed gunsmithing and target shooting. William was an avid Nebraska Cornhusker fan.
His parents and a sister, Clarice Jeanette Trimble, preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife, Sarah, of the home; three children, John Stephen Pires and wife, Jennifer, Angela Marie Bousquet and husband, Jason, and Jeffrey Gustav Priefert and wife, Nicole; ten grandchildren, Andrew Pires, Christian, Joshua, Kaitlin, Jacob, Sarah Ann, Connor and Hannah Bousquet, and Jaxon and Jayden Priefert; a brother, Frederick Thomas Priefert and sister, Karen Lee Priefert; and many other family and friends.
Memorial contributions may be made in his name to the American Cancer Society, 1320 NW Homestead Drive, #D, Lawton, Oklahoma 73505.

I am sorry to hear of Bill's death. During our LSE years Bill and his family lived directly behind our house on 44th St. in Lincoln- we spent a lot of time walking to and from Southeast High. Bill was a good guy and I was glad to have him as a friend. Steve Vose, '63.

Our hearts are filled with sorrow. Bill will be missed by his family and numerous friends. Can't remember a time that he didn't greet everyone with a smile.
