Melinda Drury, 50, of Snyder, passed away Tuesday, April 22, 2014 at her home. Graveside services are scheduled for 5:30 p.m., Thursday at the Boggy Cemetery, south of Olustee, with Mike Suiter officiating. Services have been entrusted to Kincannon Funeral Home.
Melinda Sue Hernandez was born to Pedro and Wanda (Carter) Hernandez on Oct. 23, 1963 in Oklahoma City. Melinda attended Frederick schools until her senior year, where she attended and graduated from Snyder High School. She also attended Oklahoma City Community College. She and Ted Drury were united in marriage on Feb. 14, 2010. She was a Head Start teacher in Snyder for many years and later worked in home health. Melinda loved gardening; being outdoors; home decorating and gift wrapping. Her true love was being with family.
She was preceded in death by her father; and one brother, Lloyd Hernandez.
She leaves behind her husband Ted of the home; mother, Wanda Hernandez of Snyder; daughter, Tasha Keeble of Lawton; son, Cliffton Keeble and wife Jami of Weatherford; stepdaughters, Amanda Otten and husband Michael of Blair, Andrea Tuey and husband Dave of Hiram, Ga., Alisha Wilson and husband Steve of Omaha, Neb., and Audrey Drury of Altus; eight grandchildren; brothers, Eddie Hernandez and wife Lila of Frederick, Jeffery Hernandez of Snyder; sisters, Connie Cryer and husband Danny of Tipton, and Brenda Hernandez and son Nick of Snyder; as well as a host of nieces and nephews.
The family will greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday evening at Kincannon Funeral Home.
