William Gallaher Obituary
William "Bill" Donald Gallaher, age 69, passed away on Friday December 21, 2012 with his family by his side. He was born June 11, 1943 in Ann Arbor, Michigan to William and Florine (Richards) Gallaher. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 48 years Helen Tobey Gallaher, daughter Sara Gallaher Smith, daughter Jennifer (Dale) Hull, his brother Ronald (Nancy) Gallaher, neice, nephew and many cousins. Bill was raised in Ann Arbor graduated from Ann Arbor High School in 1961, plus higher education at Jackson Jr. College and EMU. In 1966 Bill was drafted by the United States Army where he proudly served his country in the Vietnam Conflict. After being decorated and Honorably Discharged, Bill continued his career as plumber with Local 190 Plumbers and Pipefitters for over 35 years. During this time Bill and Helen raised two daughters and enjoyed golfing, fishing, softball, skiing and family vacations. Bill and Helen retired in 1998 to their dream home in the woods by the shores of Lake Charlevoix. In his retirement years they enjoyed all outdoor summer and winter sports, traveling and woodworking. Bill was known as a hardworking, trustworthy, loyal, caring, Christian man who will be missed by many family and friends. Visitation will occur from 10am to noon on Thursday, December 27, 2012 at Nie Funeral Chapel located at 3767 West Liberty Rd, Ann Arbor with funeral service at 1 pm; followed by burial at Washtenaw Memorial Park (3771 Whitmore Lake Rd, Ann Arbor). In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Little Traverse Bay in Petoskey, Charlevoix Area Humane Society or charity of choice.

We are so saddened by Bill's passing. I wish we had known so we could have been there for you, but you are all in our thoughts and prayers now and always. Bill was one of the kindest, most gentle people ever. We will always remember with fondness his smile and his happy nature.

I'm sadden to hear of Bill's passing. Please accept my sincere condolence. Bill and I were in Scouting and Pioneer class '61. I have fond memories of Bill and of the teasing we gave each other about needing to loose a few pounds as HS seniors. I lost track of him after he went into the service. Rest In Peace brother, you earned it.
