Mr. Curtis Lamar Self

Funeral services for Mr. Curtis Lamar Self, 62, of Golden Springs will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at Miller Funeral Home & Crematory with Dr. Robert Hines, Winford Brickhouse and Christy Dodson officiating. The family will receive friends this evening from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at Coldwater Baptist Cemetery. Mr. Self died Friday at Regional Medical Center. Mr. Self is survived by his wife, Cathy East Self, of Anniston; one daughter, Angelique Pitts and husband, Phillip, of Alexandria; two grandchildren, Logan Pitts and Lynsey Pitts, both of Alexandria; one stepdaughter, Christy Jeffers, of Murfreesboro, TN.; his parents, Curtis Dewitte and Imogene Self, of Oxford; three sisters, Norma Ledbetter, and husband, Cotton, of Talladega, Jane Nelson and husband, Wayne, of Alexandria, Pam Bishop and husband, James, of Oxford; one brother, David Self, of Talladega and a host of nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a foster sister, Kathy Muldoon. Lamar was a 1967 graduate of Munford High School, attended Harmony Baptist Church, and loved his grandchildren and his guitar. He was a true warrior until the very end and will be greatly missed by all that loved him.
