JOHN STEVEN HANCHECK JR.
AGE: 77 MANALAPAN
John Steven Hancheck Jr., 77, died Friday, Jan. 22, 2010, at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. Born in Leckrone, Pa., he resided in Manalapan for the past 42 years. Before retiring, he was employed at Keystone Plastics in South Plainfield and then Unlimited Auto in Keyport. He was a communicant of St. Gabriel's Roman Catholic Church, Marlboro.
John is survived by his loving wife, Evelyn of 53 years; his three sons and daughters-in-law, John S. III and Karen of Southampton, Steven C. and Chrissy of Jackson, and Thomas J. and Kathleen of Jackson; three daughters and sons-in-law, Evelyn and Dennis Junice of Old Bridge, Donna and John Gawlik of Jackson, and Laura and Joseph Volltrauer of Jackson; his brother and his wife, Ronald and Gloria of Florida; his sister, Delores Santonastasso of Lanoka Harbor; and 15 grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday, Jan. 25 at the Freeman Manalapan-Marlboro Funeral Home, 344 Route 9 North, Manalapan. A Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 26 at St. Gabriel's Historic Roman Catholic Church, Marlboro. Interment will follow at St. Gabriel's Cemetery, Marlboro. Should friends desire, a memorial donation may be made to American Cancer Society in his memory.
