I think Harry moved through life "with alacrity and dispatch" as he used to say over the PA at RNHS. He was a much beloved leader.

This is the second memory and condolence I have left for Harold Beal since his passing. Once again, Col. Beal was our dean at USMAPS at Fort Monmouth, NJ and my Cross Country coach. He was absolutely the best coach I ever had, and one of the best men I ever knew. His contribution to the students at USMAPS, members of the Cross Country Team and West Point cadets is unparalleled in my opinion. May his legacy as husband, father and mentor to all who knew him live on for many years to come. When I get to Heaven I hope to meat him again.
Best regards to all his family and friends, SFC Joseph J. Marak, US Army Special Forces Retired

Dean Beal was my cross country coach at USMAPS in 1980! He also served as our Dean of Academics. I have the highest admiration for Harold as a soldier, coach, Dean and a person who showed sincere interest in my life! His memory will always be cherished by me! Joseph J. Joe Marak

He was my Latin teacher in my freshman year at All Hallows high school. He must have been a very good teacher as I scored a %99 on the final exam.

May the road rise up to meet you,
Mat the wind be ever at your back
May the sun shine warm on your face
And the rain fall softly on your fields
And until we meet again may God hold you
In the hollow of his hand

Thanks for everything Coach,

Harry was one of my heroes which I told him many times. Like him I want to be putting one foot in front of the other, rolling out the bike miles or swimming laps when I'm 80. He never worried about speed but rejoiced at simply "Doing IT!" We will all miss you!

COL(R) Beal will always be remembered as DEAN Beal to myself and thousands of others from USMAPS. He was a legend...tough but fair, highly educated but able to talk to common folks, rough as a porcupine on the outside but a heart of gold on the inside. RIP Dean...we will miss you! You inspired me to 25 years of service...thanks for the example of what right looks like.
