Brother Flynn Obituary
AGE: 84 • Lincroft
Brother Anthony Flynn, F.S.C., 84, of Lincroft, died Tuesday, June 7, 2011 at De La Salle Hall, Lincroft. He was born in New York City and had received the Holy Habit of the Christian Brothers on Sept. 7, 1944. Brother Anthony was a graduate of Manhattan College, where he received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in 1952 and a Master of Arts degree in 1958. He earned a Ph. D. from the University of Notre Dame in 1975. His assignments included St. Jerome's School, St. John's School, and St. Raymond's School, all of New York City, Christian Brothers Academy, Albany, N.Y., Lincoln Hall, Lincolndale, N.Y., St. Joseph's Collegiate Institute, Buffalo, N.Y., where he served as principal, La Salle Academy, New York City, where he served as assistant principal, and De La Salle School, Detroit, where he served as principal. He was an associate professor at Manhattan College and a former Director of Lloyd Hall.
A viewing will be held from 10 a.m. to 12 noon Friday, June 10 at De La Salle, Newman Springs Road, Lincroft. A viewing will held from 3 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, June 10 at Christian Brothers Center at Manhattan College. The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 11 at Christian Brother Center, followed by interment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Hawthorne, N.Y. Memorial donations to De La Salle Nursing Development, 810 Newman Springs Road, Lincroft, NJ 07738 would be appreciated. Higgins Memorial Home, Freehold, is in charge of local arrangements.

The Manhattan College alumni community shares the grief, and is now praying for our fellow alumni and the family at this time. The Alumni Office has been informed. As well as the Jasper Jottings community that I personally can reach. We are all a little poorer now. "No man is an island, entire of itself ... any man's death diminishes me". We are sorry for your loss.
