Frank was my political mentor in the post-Newark riot 1967 era and it was his advice about establishing a cause for me then living in Irvington that helped me get elected North Ward councilman there. He advised me from the then failed effort to have a police dog effort in the NPD, to work on doing that in Irvington, which Irvington has to this day. Frank also tried to help Bret Schundler in his 2001 gov's race in NJ. He always made it known he was not related to Hugh Addonizio. When I was elected in 1980 he joined the celebration on my swearing in. His office on South Orange Avenue at the Pkwy was always a land mark in the Newark political scene.
