I have a vivid memory of a mixer at the College of Mount St. Vincent between members of the Arnold Air Society and Angel Flight. I was blown away at how well John could dance! I had so much fun dancing with him.

My earliest memories in life include my uncle... I remember him coming to see my grandparents (his own parents, who raised me and my brother) and talking excitedly about his own baby on the way... joking as always... "If I have a boy, I have to name him Tony because I married an Italian." Of course, he did have a boy, but they named him William. I'll never forget his ever-present smile. He was the first to laugh at a good joke (and he didn't mind the off-color ones!) He was passionate about everything he did. He was the first to tell you when you were wrong and the first to defend you when you were right. And he never allowed anyone to cross his loved ones. I will miss my uncle dearly. From my first tooth to my first glass of wine (he brought over a fine bottle for my 21st birthday) to my wedding day, he was always there, smiling and laughing. I'll remember him that way.

The Manhattan College alumni community shares the grief, and is now praying for our fellow alumni and the family at this time. The Alumni Office has been informed. As well as the Jasper Jottings community that I personally can reach. We are all a little poorer now. "No man is an island, entire of itself ... any man's death diminishes me". We are sorry for your loss.

Ian was a great pledge brother and a wondeful guy with a fabulous sense of humor. I will always cherish our years in college and all the years of jokes we shared over the internet. Anne and I pray for your family and will keep all of you in our thoughts.
