Grace M. Nicolay, 82, of Hazlet passed away peacefully at her residence on Friday, Feb. 26, 2010 with her family at her side. She was born Grace M. Flood on December 28, 1927 in Union City. She lived in Union City, until 1955 when she moved to Hazlet to raise a family. Grace was a communicant of St. Benedict's Catholic Church in Holmdel.
She was predeceased by her parents, Edward and Frances Hannigan Flood. Grace is survived by her beloved and devoted husband of 62 years, William R. Nicolay; her loving children, Connie LaCross and her husband Dan of Hazlet, Billy Nicolay and his wife Kathy of Warwick, N Y, Patty Harmata and her husband Joe of Hazlet, Jennifer Baseil and her husband Tony of Holmdel, Shawn Nicolay and his wife Kris of Barnegat; her cherished grandchildren, Jennifer Daley of Toms River, Tara Bilka of Hazlet, Joshua Nicolay of Belmar, Cristin Nicolay of N C, TJ Harmata of Keansburg, Amanda Woosley of LA, Sebastian Nicolay of Barnegat, Seth Nicolay of Barnegat, and her great grandchildren, Richard and Shawn Bilka, Justin, Jessica, Kiersten and Isabella Daley and Brayden Harmata. She will be sadly missed but never forgotten.
In respect of Grace's wishes she was privately cremated. A memorial service will be announced at a future date.
