Thanks for all the good times. She cared about the "kids" and her faculty. She was St. Peter's through and through. God Bless.

I am one of eleven children and each and every one of us was touched in some way by her love, generosity and incredible spirit. I will miss her smile, her energy and her love of life. She was a great woman and educator. We have truly lost an icon. Godspeed Sr. Maureen, you are - and always will be, loved.

Sister Maureen was as energetic as the children she taught. She was a Dear Friend to my Mother, Mary Catherine Ward, and an inspiration to me and all of my Brothers and Sisters. She was always there when we needed her most. My heart is filled with loving memories of Sister Maureen.

My deepest sympathies go to Sister's family and to her Order. I graduated from St. Peter's Elementary School in 1965 and SPHS in 1969 and so did not have Sr. Maureen as a teacher. That however does not matter, as it is sad to lose another of these dear ladies who gave so much to all of us who attended and graduated from St. Peter's.
God rest her soul.

I was a student of Sister Maureen at Saint Peter Elementary many years ago. I will always remember her dedication to teaching and her compassion for us. Most of all I will remember her courage as she dared to blaze new paths for the vocation. I will always remember her wearing jeans and thinking how cool that was. Thank you Sister Maureen for being a positive influence in my life.

"Sister Maureen was an inspiration. She displayed a sense of calm no matter what was going on in the school. I loved working with her at St. Peter's - both the elementary and the High school.
Before the high school closed, she worked as the Librarian. She always had time for my many questions. I will miss her presence but have so many wonderful memories of this lovely lady.
I thank God for the gift of this beautiful life.

Sister Maureen was the complete educator. She cared about and remembered all the students she came in contact with. She especially enjoyed basketball and watching her beloved St. Peter's teams-coaches and players. I last saw and spoke with her at the wake of a relative just a few weeks ago.. She seemed to be as vibrant as always. This is a shock.
God bless you, Sister. Another St. Peter's icon passes on.
