Robert Oettinger Obituary
AGE: 84 ? Brick
Robert P Oettinger 84 of Brick, died Friday, February 18th at Shorrock Gardens Care Center, Brick. He owned and operated Oettinger Electric in Old Bridge for 43 years while working as an electrical supervisor for General Motors in the Hyatt Bearing Division in Clark for 15 years, retiring in 1981. Born in New York, NY he resided in Old Bridge for 30 years and Jackson for 3 years before moving to Manchester in 1991 and recently resided in Brick for 5 years. He was a member of the Jackson VFW and played softball for the Cedar Glen West League and loved to fish. Surviving is his wife of 61years, Rose G Oettinger, 3 sons, Robert J & wife Debra of Toms River, Joseph P & wife Elizabeth of Old Bridge, and Michael of Jackson, 3 daughters, Diane Hornsteiner & husband Arthur of Freehold, Lorraine Conti of Old Bridge, and Annmarie Oettinger of Highland Park and 20 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Memorial Service is Monday 9:30 AM at First Assembly of God with interment to follow at Brigadier Gen Wm C Doyle NJ Veterans Cemetery, Arneytown. I worked with Bob and his son as an Electrical Apprentice. We wired many of those houses in Ocean Port. He was a character and a good guy!
