Alta Alice Treiber, 75, of Brick passed away on Thursday, November 29, 2012 at the Concord Health Care Center in Lakewood surrounded by her family. Mrs. Treiber was a homemaker. She was a graduate of Point Pleasant Beach High School. She was a member of the Osbornville Baptist Church in Brick . She also taught Sunday school within the parish. Mrs. Treiber loved nature and all animals and the causes for their welfare but was especially fond of her beloved cats. Born in Lakewood, she was a lifelong resident of the Osbornville section of Brick. She was especially fond of her childhood in Cherry Quay and had a lifetime love of the Barnegat Bay and the Ocean. When she was not in her home in Brick she loved to travel and explore. She was in love with the Island of Oahu her paradise and the home of her daughter Lorraine.

Mrs. Treiber was predeceased by her husband Marvin George "Buddy" Treiber in 1993; her parents Sr. Chief Petty Officer Alton Charles Gant and Eleanor Gant; as well as her son Thomas Treiber in 2003. Surviving are sons Charles A. Treiber of Jackson, Andrew Treiber and his wife Karen of Neptune; daughters Lorraine Treiber and her fiancée Mike Kotabe of Waikiki, HI and Plymouth Meeting, PA, and Alice A. Treiber and her fiancée Joseph Evans of Jackson; sisters Rose McKelvey of Brick and Ida. She also leaves behind her granddaughter Ariel Treiber of Brick.

Visiting will be on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9pm at the O'Brien Funeral Home, 505 Burnt Tavern Road, Brick. The service will be held 8:30pm Monday night in the funeral home. Interment will be held privately at the Brigadier General William C. Doyle Memorial Cemetery in Arneytown, North Hanover Township.
