Gary Kolenz Obituary
AGE: 63 • Blairstown
Gary "The Welder" Kolenz, 63, a resident of Blairstown, NJ passed away surrounded by his loved ones on Thursday, Aug. 21, 2014 following a battle against advanced pancreatic cancer. Born in Rahway, NJ he lived and worked in Avenel and Edison before settling in Blairstown in 2010. A successful businessman who loved his work, his easy-going nature and generosity won him the respect and admiration of everyone who knew him. His love of family, his loyalty to friends, his appreciation for the simple things in life, riding his tractor on the farm, tending his animals, as well as his passion for race cars contributed to making his life a fulfilled one.
Survivors include his daughter, Christine Staahl, her husband Mark and their daughters, Ariel and Emily of Blairstown; his sister, Joanne Buchmueller and family living in Germany; his loving companion, Debra Glorisi of Manalapan and cousins in and around the area. He was preceded in death by his wife of 37 years, April.
A memorial celebration will be held in his honor on Saturday, Aug. 30, 2014 between 1 to 5 p.m. at the family home in Blairstown. Please email [email protected] for information.

My heartfelt condolences to Gary's family and friends. He was a few years older than me when we met at Bob Wiesemeyer's race car shop in Avenel when we were teenagers. He aspired to be a welder and was absolutely car crazy in addition to being well liked by everyone. Farewell my friend.
