Joseph Morrison Obituary

Joseph Morrison

Toms River

Joseph Morrison, passed away on Sunday, Sept. 14, 2014, surrounded by his family who loved him deeply. Born in Brooklyn, NY, he also lived in Florida and Spain before moving to Toms River. He became an electrical engineer and fulfilled his lifelong dream of working with rocket ships. His work on Apollo 11 at the Kennedy Space Center helped put men on the moon. He loved books (and lots of them), cats, nature, outer space, and archeology. He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Cora, and his children and grandchildren of whom he was so proud: David with Piper and Beatrix; Alan and Julie with Corben; Brian and Annie with Jacob and Elijah; Tania and James with Emily and Lillian, Eric, Patrick, and James; Liana and Tom with Asha. He is also survived by his brothers, Ed and Jack, and Ashley (his little sister); mother-in-law, Rae Cabot; sister-in-law, Bette; cousin, Irwin; sister-in-law, Julie V.; and loving nieces and nephews.

Joe was my good friend from my first day working at Ft Monmouth. He helped me over and over again both personally and professionally. For that I am eternally grateful. He was a good man. He loved his wife and family deeply and rest assured he will be looking after all of you always. I just recounted the story of joe wiring his kitchen table to a battery providing an unpleasant jolt to his father. Just like a true engineer! To my friend Joe: enjoy the ride and let me know how it all turns out. I will not forget all that we discussed.
