Joan A. Schaf 75 of Leisure Village West, Manchester died Friday, January 1, at the home of her daughter in West Milford. She was employed for 30 years as an insurance agent with the Jackson Insurance Agency, Jackson before retiring in 2004. She was active in her current parish, St John's, Lakehurst, and her previous parish of St Aloysius, Jackson. Born in Tottenville, Staten Island, NY, she resided in Jackson for 43 years before moving to Manchester in 2009. She is predeceased by her husband, William H. Schaf, who died in 2013. Surviving are her 2 daughters, Elizabeth Yodice of West Milford, Christine Braendly of Howell, and 3 grandchildren, Nicholas, Sophia, and Lisette. Visitation is Tuesday from 2-4 & 7-9 pm at the Oliverie Funeral Home, 2925 Ridgeway Road, Manchester with a funeral service to begin at 8:00 pm. Cremation will be private. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Alzheimer's Association of NJ, 400 Morris Avenue, Suite 251, Denville, NJ 07834. Grandma Sugar, maybe no one said it before but you were the best! A devoted wife, loving mother, the perfect mother-in-law and grandmother. You will be truly missed but never forgotten.
