AGE: 60 • Hillsborough
Joseph Thomas Ploskonka, 60 died on Monday February 15, 2016 at RWJUH in New Brunswick, NJ. He was born in Fords, NJ and grew up in Edison moving to Hillsborough in 1980. Joseph worked in the I.T. department for Bristol Myers Squibb for 33 years and then Hewlett Packard for 3 years before retiring in 2015. In his free time, Joseph loved computers, computer games, pinball and spending time with his family. Surviving are his wife of 25 years, Catherine M. (Kunze) Ploskonka, his sons, Joseph, Thomas, Justin and Adam all at home and his sister Joanne Kotacska of Florida.
Funeral services will begin on Monday February 22nd at 9:15am in the Hillsborough Funeral Home, 796 US Hwy 206, Hillsborough followed by a 10am Mass of Christian Burial in St. Joseph's Church, 34 Yorktown Rd., Hillsborough. Cremation will be private. Visiting will be Sunday from 2pm-5pm in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Joseph's name to the American Cancer Society, www.cancer.org

Joe will certainly be missed. I worked closely with Joe on a few projects many years ago. He was an awesome teammate that brought humor and a level of calm to the work we did that allowed us to focus and be successful.

I was saddened to hear about Joe's passing today. He was one of my favorite co-workers at BMS. We nicknamed him "the doctor" because he could fix any computer problem! He was a great person who always made time to help you through a problem. He will be missed. My condolences to Cathy and family.
