Kabal Gill Obituary

Nov. 25, 1943- Dec. 7, 2009 Kabal Singh Gill was born November 25, 1943 in Majari, Punjab (India). He passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his immediate family after a two and a half year battle with ALS or Lou Gehrig's Disease. He was the youngest child of Basant Singh and Dhan Kaur Gill. He was the first in his family to immigrate to Canada, arriving in 1970 and residing there until 1978. He and his family moved to California to join two of his brothers in Colusa. He lived in Colusa from 1978 until 1990. He enjoyed a 25 year career at Pirelli Cable before retiring. For the last 18 years he has lived, together with his family, in Woodland. He is survived by his wife Harbhajan, son Jaswant, daughter and son-in-law Charanjit and Kulvir Sangha, son and daughter-in-law Rajminder and Harpreet, and grandsons Taran and Raman. He is also survived by his brothers, Gian, Sewa, Sucha, Nihal and sister, Swaran Kaur. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Udham Dehal. Funeral services will be held at North Sacramento Funeral Home (725 El Camino Ave., Sacramento) on Sunday, December 13 at noon. Send & Read Condolences at www.appealdemocrat.com

I am saddened to learn of Kabal's passing. I'm sadder still that to find out so late that I could pay formal respects to him on Dec. 13th.

I'm sure that Kabal is in a better place now, free of the ALS that took him from us far too soon.

My thoughts are with his family.
