Mildred Scott-Davis Obituary

Mildred J. Scott-Davis of Marysville passed away on 11/28/2010 at Rideout Hospital. She was 83. She was born in Vernon, TX on 01/29/1927. She was one of 14 children born to Jacob & Nettie Muriel Roberts. She was the oldest daughter. After leaving Texas the family lived in Arizona before settling in California in the late 30's or early 40's. Here is where she met her husband to be Clarence (Roy) Scott. After he returned from the war in 1945 they became engaged, then married in 1947. Mildred was such a hard worker for all of her life. She worked and retired from Lucky Stores in Yuba City after 28 years as a meat wrapper. For many years, she was an avid bowler and played on a league in Yuba City. She loved many things in her life, but nothing came close to the love she had for her family. There wasn't anything she wouldn't do for any of them, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. They were her life and always came first. She is survived by her daughter, Judi Vieira (husband, Larry) of Yuba City; son, David Scott (wife, Kelly) of Yuba City; sisters: Betty Miller, Joanne Miller and Sandy Holsted of Marysville, Wandell Christy of Yuba City, and Nina Coats of Sacramento; sister in law, Carolyn Roberts of Yuba City; brothers: Maurice Roberts of Auburn and Doyle Roberts of Marysville; grandchildren: Amber Vieira, Jaimie Scott (husband, Kenyata Bishop), Ashley Scott of Yuba City, Jeremy Scott of Marysville, Matt Vieira of Fair Oaks, Aaron Scott (wife, Melissa), of Antelope, Alex Allen (wife, Beka) of Colorado and Cheryl Hicks (husband, Jeff) of Louisiana; great-grandchildren: Jonah Osby, Kyrstn Scott, Rasean Moore-Scott, Kyle Scott-Bebout, Trendon & Bage Scott-Bishop and Kyle & Kara Lind. She was preceded in death by her husband of 27 years, Roy Scott; her parents, Jacob and Muriel Roberts; siblings: Cleta McGrath, Monte Roberts and Donnie Roberts. The family would like you to visit www.lakesidecolonialchapel.com and leave your messages there. Services for Mildred will be held on Monday, December 6, 2010 at Lakeside Colonial Chapel, 830 D Street, Marysville at 11:00 am. Doors will be open at 9:00 am for visitation and prayer. Burial will be at Sierra View Memorial Park in Olivehurst following the service, with a reception at the Moose Lodge in Yuba City. Judi, Amber, Matt and family - I'm so sorry for your loss. Over the many years that I have joined your family for a holiday or a celebration, Grandma Mildred was always there and she was indeed one of the sweetest and most caring people that I've met. You were lucky to have her, but she too was lucky to have such a wonderful family in her life. May you find peace in the coming days. ~Kathy

Mom... it will be such a different world without you in it. You made our lives bright, happy and secure. You were always the one to make sure everyone was taken care of. Now, you are in a brighter place and will be taken care of by our Lord. We will carry on in your honor as best we can, doing our best to live life and take care of each other as you would. I will always love and miss you. Judi
