Darrell Reiber Obituary
October 31, 1933 - August 6, 2016
Darrell Leonard Reiber, DO passed away peacefully in his home on August 6, 2016. He was 82 years old. He was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Gloria Jo, and his son, Darren. He is survived by his sister Arlene, son Derek and his wife Kelly, daughter Shanna her husband Dan, and four grandchildren Mia, Lily, Isaac, and Gideon.
Darrell had several hobbies including playing the accordion, photography, and collecting stamps and coins. He was a linguist and spoke fluent Spanish, German, and Urdu. Darrell was a lifelong avid baseball fan. He loved traveling around the world and studying the cultures of the many places he visited. He served as a medical missionary in Karachi, Pakistan from 1976 until 1981. He returned to the states and practiced medicine in the Northern California area until his retirement. His independence was important later in life and he maintained both his medical and drivers licenses until his passing.
A graveside service will be held at Sutter Cemetery on Friday, August 19 at 11:00 a.m.
