Florence Robinson Obituary

Surrounded by family and love, Flo Robinson lost her two year battle with cancer and passed away at U.C. Davis Medical Center on November 22, at age 59. She was born October 6, 1951, in Elko, Nevada to parents Grant and Betty Sharp. She lived in Elko until 1965 and then moved to Hawthorne, Nevada, where her mother had a teaching position. After her mother's death, Flo and her husband and daughter moved to the Yuba-Sutter area in 1975 to be closer to other family members and has been a resident of Yuba City since 1985. She was an Accounting Officer for Houston Fearless, a private contractor to the government at Beale Air Force Base for over 20 years, where she made many lifelong friends, including Bob Cook, Bill Parayo and Liz Luster. Flo is survived by her husband of 36 years, Jackie, and daughters Kim and Amanda; grandchildren Devin, Brady, McKenna and Lyndin, brother Neil Sharp and his wife Blair, sister Vivian Johnson and her husband Bert, sister Jody Sharp, numerous nieces and nephews and many loving and good friends, all of whom will miss her dearly. She was a talented decorator with a beautiful home, loved gardening and creating beautiful things. She loved being with the entire family for different occasions and camping trips, playing games, laughing and having a great time. She was active in community service, volunteering and helping with many activities at Notre Dame School, volunteering where needed after the 1986 flood, a supporter of all of her children's and nieces and nephews sporting events and other activities during their school years, a member and former captain of the F.A.C.E.S. Relay for Life team since its beginning in this area 11 years ago, an active member and past president, secretary and membership of the Ladies Auxiliary of the American Legion Post 807, and many other causes and events wherever she was needed. At Flo's request, there will be no formal service, however there will be a Celebration of Life on Sunday, November 28, 2010, at 2:00 p.m. at the American Legion Post 807, 5477 Feather River Blvd., in Linda. She requests casual wear, bright colors, to have fun and "cheers" to the good times! So Lovely, So Loved. Send Condolences at www.appealdemocrat.com

I always loved going to the American Legion to see my mother Merry White and visiting all the ladies, especially Flo. She was one of the only ones at the Legion who understood and cared for me and my issues that I have now overcame one day at a time. She was a very intelligen, talented woman and I would like to share my condolences with her family. Flo will always be remembered.
