John Karl Oberg, Sr.

John Karl Oberg Sr. of Loma Rica, CA died at Rideout Memorial Hospital on Christmas Eve, 2010. He was the husband of Regina Oberg; beloved son of Herman and Elsa Oberg; brother to Hank and Harry Oberg, Valerie Kidder, Vivian Kuhl, and Nita Bumgarner. He was the loving father of Tony Russo, Johnnie Oberg Jr., and Erik Oberg. Father-in-law of Yeni Russo; and grandfather of Marina Russo. John Oberg immigrated from Finland to the United States in December of 1950, and then to Loma Rica from the Bay Area in February of 1986. He volunteered to serve his country in the Vietnam War in the Marine Corps, and was promoted to sergeant by the age of 20. The last twenty years of John Oberg's professional career was spent in management of auto divisions in the Bay Area, including Volkswagen, Audi, and Porsche.
