When I think of your Dad I think of how caring he was. The time he found the flu shots for us in Marysville. When I helped with your wedding-he liked to give me a bad time-but he loved the whole thing.

Kathy and Kim, please accept our condolencies, we are very sorry for your loss.

I first met your dad at RAF Mildenhall in 1983, we shared the same shop, and during that time I really got to know his character, he cared and showed compassion for a lot of people.

He reappeared in Florida at another work location where we again shared the same shop.

We worked in the same hangar, just a few shops apart in Saudi Arabia, and resided at the same compound.

Lloyd was the one to always maintain that everyone in the group had a genuine Thanksgiving dinner while we are in Saudi Arabia away from our families.

We reunited again in 1995 in Palmdale/Edwards, back on the SR-71 program.

I could go on with this, but I will close by saying that I knew him for 27 yrs, and during those years, he always maintained a very positive demeanor.

My wife met him when he came to our home in California, and she thought very highly of him.

May you and your family find comfort during this difficult time, through our Lord and Savior Jusus Christ.

To the Rayworth Family,

Words cannot express the sorrow we feel for your (our) loss. Lloyd was a good shipmate and, like you, we loved him too. We only hope that our sincere sympathy will somehow ease your pain.

The Bang Gang

Lord this departed Shipmate with Dolphins on his chest,
Is part of an outfit known to be the best.
Please welcome him and offer him your hand,
As you no doubt know he's the best in the land.
And also heavenly Father add his name to the roll
Of our departed Shipmates who serve on Final Patrol.
Assure them all that we, who still survive
Will always keep their memory alive.

I had the pleasure of knowing Lloyd from 1976 to 1980 while stationed at Beale AFB and Kadina,Okinawa. We worked and played hard but I had the utmost respect for his knowledge, wisdom, and respect as he tutored and supervised the photo troops. There is a beautiful picture of him at the Evergreen museum in McMinnville, Oregon of him standing in front of an SR-71 with his cameras. He will be missed along with his daily emails.

Over the years I have enjoyed many conversations with Lloyd. Most often we spoke of either Family or the East Coast, both of which he was very passionate about. He was a very carrying man always willing to help a friend and will be greatly missed. My thoughts and prayers go out to the Rayworth Family in this time of sorrow.

"Even in the deepest sinking there is the hidden purpose of an ultimate rising. Thus it is for all men; from none is the source of light withheld unless he himself withdraws from it. There fore the most important this is no to despair."
It is my wish that all whom are grieving his loss can comfort in these words. I love you Kim.

Lloyd had just told me about the visit he had with his family at his home with the daughters (Kathy, Kim and Cheryl) and their family. He said what a great time he had just having everyone together. Family was very important to Lloyd, he spoke often how much he loved his kids and grandkids. He played the father roll to many of us at TBT's and I will surely miss him!
