Patricia Burgess Obituary

Of College City passed away on December 4, 2010 at Woodland Memorial Hospital in Woodland, CA. She was born June 20, 1937 in Woodland, California. She was a loving mother to Danny Kern Phelan (deceased); Susie Phelan McCullough and husband Steve; Jeffrey M. Phelan. Grandmother to Hattie McCullough Knowles and husband Paul of Minot, ND, Minda McCullough of Fresno, CA and Grandson Mitch McCullough of Arbuckle. She also was Great grandmother to Layne Knowles and a sister to Maryann Diaz. She was preceded in death by her parents William "Bill" Rankin, Harriet Watson Hawk and son Danny Phelan. Arlene lived her entire life in College City. She retired from College City Post Office and Rankin Store, which her grandfather built. She was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church. She enjoyed reading, doing crossword puzzles and spending time with her family and dear friends Beverly Cox, Carolyn Struckmeyer, and cousin Sandra Jacobson Sanchez. A Rosary will be recited at 12:30p.m. followed by Funeral Mass which will be held on Friday, December 10th, beginning 1:00p.m. at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Arbuckle.
