Karl Blessinger Obituary
Dr. Karl J. Blessinger, age 49, of Huron, died Wednesday, November 2, 2016 at Sanford USD Medical Center. His visitation will be from 5 to 7 PM Tuesday, November 8, 2016, at the Kuhler Funeral Home in Huron, with a time of sharing at 6:30 PM. Memorials may be directed to the Beadle County Humane Society of Huron, the Jan Manolis Family Safe Center, the Huron Regional Medical Center Foundation Fund for the Future Program, or a charity of the donor's choice. Karl had been employed by Huron Regional Medical Center as the pathologist and as Medical Director of both the HRMC Laboratory and HRMC Blood Bank since moving to Huron in 1998.
Karl is survived by his spouse, Jeffery Van Winkle of Huron; his mother, Helen Blessinger of Evansville, IN; two sisters, Donna (Steve) Pitts of Milan, IN and Ann Blessinger of Houston, TX; his nephew, Russell Pitts; and his niece, Sarah Pitts.

yesterday I came across a gift that Jeff and Karl gave me for Christmas. It was a dish towel with a saying about wine and family get togethers. I stopped for a minute to think about Karl. I miss him. He was a good person with a big heart.

Dear Helen,
What an accomplished career he had. I only remember him as a young boy, but a very nice one and, of course, the Christmas photo cards sent every year ☺ I am so sorry for your loss. You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers.
