Family-Placed Death Notice
RAPER, Jerry, Sr. Ret. Captain, Jerry L. Raper, Sr., age 68, of Morrow, passed away, Wednesday, September 22, 2010. He was retired from East Point Fire Department. Mr. Raper graduated from Russell High School and was a member of the Lithia Springs Masonic Lodge. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He is survived by his wife; Liboria, daughter and son-in-law; Chris and Jeff Foster of Forest Park, sons and daughters-in-law; Jerry Jr. and Sha Raper of Stockbridge, Jason and Amy Raper of Sharpsburg, brothers and sisters-in-law; Horace and Patricia Raper of Hogansville, Dale and Brenda Watson of Locust Grove, brother; Buddy Watson of Rex, grandchildren; Zack Butcher, Jeremy Raper, Josh Foster and Cody Raper. Funeral services will be held, Monday, September 27, 2010 at 11 AM at Tara Baptist Church in Jonesboro with Firefighter Honors. Interment will be at Camp Memorial Park in Fayetteville. The family will receive friends on Sunday, September 26, 2010 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the funeral home. Flowers accepted or contributions may be made to: Jerry L. My Papa was a great man. Everyone in our family will always love and miss him deeply.

I will always treasure the kindness Jerry showed my mother all of the years after he lived with us when his mother was sick. He was the son my mother always wanted and she was proud of him and the success he made for himself and his family. I know that he will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him and loved him.
