I knew Wayne when he was a student at Yale, and when he, Steve Kieran, Barbara DeGrange, and I shared an apartment in Philadelphia in 1973-1974. He was a wonderful human being, kind, witty, gentle, caring; at the time, we both were living apart from our future spouses (because of our respective graduate programs), and used to lament our situations while we were taking a break from studying in the evenings. He was deeply in love with his future wife. I was shocked to read of his untimely passing, and even these many years later, am so saddened that he is no longer with us. But he made an incredible difference in people's lives even when he was young. He was very interested in my studies in religion, which we used to discuss; I am not at all surprised that he became a pillar of his church. May his soul rest in peace. God bless you.

Dearest Miriam, Matthew, Meredith and Grant, I just learned of the passing of Wayne from dear friend Ann Judd. I pray for God's richest blessing on the Parker family as I know how much Wayne is loved and will be missed. What a legacy. I have over the years been honored to know you, Miriam, and I am so glad we stay in touch annually by Christmas cards and pictures. I only wish now I had been a better friend. Ann has been so good about keeping me in the loop about you, Wayne and your precious family. Wayne had such a heart to help others make their lives better.
Miriam, I am here for you and hope to get in touch soon. Jonathan and his wife Tiffany go to Buckhead Church and are in a small group. Thanks to you and Wayne for making marriages better for others by sharing of your marriage of 33 years.
I Love you my friend. And will always cherish our times of running together.
Love, In Christ,
Stephanye

I was Wayne's dissertation advisor when he was in graduate school. He was a wonderful student, an original thinker, and a terrific human being.

I knew Wayne when we were both in the graduate program in clinical psychology at Temple University. In fact, at one point he was my supervisor -- and you can imagine how lucky I was to have a person with such a combination of gentleness and sharp intelligence. It was wonderful to see the photographs of Wayne with his family, and I know you were all the beneficiaries of his caring delight. I am so sorry for your loss.

Dr. Parker was such a caring person, and though I only knew him in the past year, he had a significant impact on my life. I will always be grateful. His family was so fortunate to have him in their life, and I'm so sorry for their loss.

I was shocked and saddened to hear of Dr. Parker's passing. He was the classic example of tough love, holding one accountable but yet loving. You were a man of great peace and insight. Know that you are now in the ultimate place of complete solitude. Love and peace to all of you and your family.

I am so sad to hear this. Wayne and I were friends all 12 years of grade school. Our first grade play, I was the bride and Wayne was the preacher in "The Wedding of the Flowers". He was the first boy I ever "fast" danced with. He was truly a fine person and I am proud to have known him. Ellen (Hardy) Montgomery

I am very sad to hear of Dr. Parker's death. Although I haven't seen him in years, I remember him fondly. He was an exceptional counselor and he helped our troubled teenaged daughter through a very rough time in her life. Without Dr. Parker, I don't know where she would be today but because of his help, she is now a wonderful and well adjusted woman, teaching gifted children in an elementary school, and happily married and living on a horse farm with her terrific husband. We will never forget Dr. Parker and what he did for our daughter. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family in this time of sorrow. JWA
