Sara Burkhalter Williams of East point, GA., passed away September 18, 2004. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, George L. Williams, Jr., sons, George L. Williams III and his wife Pamela B. Williams of Fort Pierce, FL; Craig J. Williams of Columbus, GA; Tom Williams and his wife Robin F. Williams of Tucker, GA; and daughter, Jennie Williams Dodge of Atlanta, GA. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren, Paige Williams Ledgerwood, Payton Williams, Phillip Dodge, Stewart Dodge, Sarah Dodge, Emily Williams, Seth Williams and Kyle Williams, 1 sister, Mildred Burkhalter Hall Ethington of Spring Hill, GA. She was preceded in death by 1 sister, Christine Burkhalter Pitts and 1 brother Jeff Burkhalter. Mrs. Williams was born in Spring Hill, GA. in 1922 and resided in East Point since 1961. She taught school in the Fulton Co. school system for more than 30 years. She was a member of the East Point Presbyterian Church. A memorial service will be held at the East Point Presbyterian Church, 2810 Church St., East Point, GA. 404-767-4242 at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 21, 2004. The family will receive friends at the church after the memorial service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Southwest Christian Hospice, 7225 Lester Road, Union City, GA. 30291-2316. Interment will be at Spring Hill Cemetery on Wednesday, September 22, 2004 at 1:00 p.m. Arrangements handled by Lowe's Funeral Home, McRae, GA.
