Richard MAURO Obituary

MAURO, Richard Richard L. Mauro, age 72, of Marietta, GA, died at home on June 8, 2015. He is survived by his wife, Rosalind Mauro, his children; Christine Gentry (Tony), Richard Mauro, Jr., Michele Wilson (Clay) and Andrew Mauro (Carolyn). Survivors also include his mother, Concetta Mauro; grandchildren Nick, Stephen, Joshua, Samuel and Sydney; sister-in-law Margaret Hinojosa; niece Lisa DiSanto (Lou) and nephew Michael Hinojosa (Shelby); great nephew and nieces Dimitri, Leila and Malia. Mr. Mauro was preceded in death by his father, Pasquale Mauro. He was born in Mt. Vernon, NY, on October 8th, 1942. He graduated from AB Davis High School in Mt. Vernon, in 1960. He received a BS in Electrical Engineering from Manhattan College in 1964 and an MS in Industrial Administration from Union College in 1969. In 1964, he began his long career at IBM working in engineering, sales and marketing; and he was very involved in the launching of the new IBM PC. In 1985 he began working for Inforum Technology Mart in Atlanta and then started his own company, Insight Marketing Partners, in 1989. This led to his position as president and COO of TeleMate.Net (formerly Complementary Solutions), in 1994. He eventually became CEO and helped to take the company public. He retired in 2001 and spent time on his photography and extensive travel with his "sweetie" Roz and family. His photos, and those of many other artists, can be viewed on the photography website he created in retirement, visionlightgallery.com. He left us too soon but he lived his life to the fullest, and he lives on in the hearts of those who loved him. Memorial Services will be held Saturday, June 20, 2015 at 10 o'clock in the morning at Sandy Springs Chapel, 136 Mt. Vernon Hwy. NE, Sandy Springs, GA 30328. Memorial contributions may be made to Safe Path Children's Advocacy Center, 736 Whitlock Avenue Suite 600, Marietta, GA 30064, Hospice Atlanta, 1244 Park Vista Drive, Atlanta, GA 30319 or Melanoma Research Alliance, 1101 New York Avenue, NW, Suite 620, Washington, DC 20005.

The Manhattan College alumni community shares the grief, and is now praying for our fellow alumni and the family at this time. The Alumni Office has been informed. As well as the Jasper Jottings community that I personally can reach. We are all a little poorer now. "No man is an island, entire of itself ... any mans death diminishes me". We are sorry for your loss.
