I am honored to be able to call Taz a business partner, a mentor and most importantly a friend. He was literally the person who would give you the shirt off his back if you were in need. I have been fortunate to have lived an exciting, productive and rewarding life but have no doubt that I would be a lesser man today if Taz had not been part of it. My deepest sympathies to Gregory, Geoff, Christine, Sam and the entire Anderson family. Taz will be greatly missed.

My condolences to the Anderson family.
Spoke to Taz first part of September and although he told me of his condition, he was very positive and talked about everything but his illness. What a GIANT of a man in so many ways. Will truly be missed!

Taz Anderson was not only known by all Tech loyalists, as an example what one man can be; but also to the scores of folks that knew he lead by example. Rest well my good and faithful servant, you ran a hell of a race.

Taz was a friend and a mentor to many including myself. I met Taz in 1972 when I was a young man as I began my real estate career. I was trying to get him to purchase a tract of property on Main Street just west of the current location of the ATL Airport in College Park (now in the approximate area where the Airport Convention Center is located). Taz and I discussed the new proposed ATL Airport relocation announced by Grady Ridgeway, airport Mgr at the time. The morning we met on site, Taz drove up in a Maserati with big painted letters on each door side "Evil Knievel". He and Evil were on their way to play golf that particular morning. For a very young man that I was at the time, it was a lasting impression to this very day. I always enjoy our conversations over the past 44 years and I will miss his occasional calls for sure. Taz was not only a great person he was a down to earth REAL person to all. Taz thanks for the memories that I will always cherish.

I sold Taz the first of his roadside electronic signs, this one in honor of his beloved GA Tech. He signed the contract with his attorney and me at his bedside at St. Joseph's in 1991, just before his first by-pass surgery.
It came as no surprise that Taz went on to build his own outdoor advertising empire. Taz did everything big. Somehow Taz had a way of making everyone he met feel just as big as he was. He was genuinely interested in every person's story. I'm glad to include Taz in the great stories of my life.

Taz was, without a doubt, one of the finest! My late husband Joe and Taz had a very special relationship, not just the Ga Tech football connection and Bobby Dodd, but their love of family, friends (including the late Evel) , golf, guitar and country music, to name a few. They could talk for hours and hours When my husband was so sick, Taz would come to the house and sit with him for much of the day. He would always bring his wonderful smile and fabulous personality to brighten our day!
Atlanta has lost one of it's finest and he will be missed by all who loved him. Prayers and love to his entire family!

A classic Southern Gentleman, Taz will be remembered as an Atlantan icon. He not only had a hand in crafting the development of Atlanta's landscape, he touched the lives of multiple generations both socially and professionally. He was a "man's man" but with a generous heart. We all will remember his great smile when we think of Taz...
