Family-Placed Death Notice

GRISWELL, Bobby Bobby Lee Griswell of Niceville, FL, went home to be with the Lord, surrounded by his family, on Monday, October 27, 2008. Bob loved his family and friends and enjoyed nothing more than laughing over stories of his grandchildren. He appreciated the many relationships built during his 25 years as a Mason of Latham Lodge No. 12 in Austell, Georgia, where he served as Master Mason in 1980. Bob is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Jackie Griswell, who was by his side as he bravely battled cancer. His is also survived by three children; Dr. Scott Ewing and wife, Wendy; Dr. Carla Courtney and husband, Graham; and Mrs. Kerry LaMonde and husband, Craig; eight grandchildren Adam Griswell, Kyle Griswell, Caden Ewing, Caroline Courtney, Sarah Courtney, John Courtney, Nicki LaMonde, and Lauren LaMonde. Bob was preceded in death by his son, Danny Griswell. Bob's life will be celebrated at 2 memorial services. A service will be held on Sunday November 2nd at 2pm at Oak Grove United Methodist Church, Decatur, Ga. (www.ogumc.org). The family will receive friends on Saturday, November 1st, from 6pm to 8pm, at the home of Bob's daughter, Carla Courtney, 1605 Crestline Drive, Atlanta, GA 30345. A second memorial service will be held at First United Methodist Church, Niceville, Florida on Friday, November 14, 2008 at 1pm in the chapel. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations are made in Bob's memory to Covenant Hospice, 101 Hart Street, Niceville, Florida, 32578. BOBBY LEE GRISWELL

I remember all the weekends as a teenager "square dancing" or two stepping (of all things) to Bob's calling. 30 years later I can actually say out loud how fun it was and not worry about the "cool" factor! I never remember Bob without a smile on his face and a song in his heart!
