I was deeply touched when i saw the recent episode of the Residents. It passed a very strong message; we are all humans, irrespective of our variations we should be treated as a Single specie that we are; Homo Sapiens. As a future Obstetrician i was challenged by This story, it is now my inspiration to strive for perfection in my intended profession. I just finished watching an episode of The Resident "If Not Now, When?" The episode brought tears to my eyes. When I read at the end it was fictional but inspired by true stories, such as yours, I could not stop the tears.
I can only hope this episode wakes up all the Dr's that have prejudice or just don't give a damn.To Kira's husband, children, families and friends, I offer my deepest heartfelt condolences. It's obvious from reading some other postings that Kira was an inspiration and touched many lives with her love and kindness.

I met Kira in Greenville, S.C. we attended the same high for a short period of time in 1992/1993
( JL Mann High) she was an amazing person and a great friends. We would talk on the phone and laugh for hours at my Def Comedy Jam tapes (VHS) You will truly be missed.
