HARGROVE, Lawrence Celebration of life for Mr. Lawrence E. Hargrove of 2141 Springdale Rd. Atlanta, Ga. will be held Saturday, Jan. 14, 2012 at 2:30 p.m. from the Chapel of Gus Thornhill's Funeral Home, 1315 Gus Thornhill Jr. Dr. East Point, Ga. with Rev. Robert Melson officiating. Interment South- view Cemetery. He leaves to cherish: seven children: Brianna Grier, Angel Grier, Tecia Grier, Lawrence Haire, Lawrencia Haire, Mason Farmer and Ethan Farmer; mother Frances H. Reed; father Walter Hargrove; (2) brothers Walter (Joe) and Stanley "Stan" Hargrove; grandmother Beatrice Minor of Tuscaloosa, Ala.; (3) aunts Karon Minor, Deborah Minor of Tuscaloosa, Ala., Sharon and Willie Hackett, Mobile Ala; (4) uncles Mr. & Mrs. Tommie (Claretha) Minor, Oakhurst N.J., Leon Minor, Ray & Wanda Minor, and Gary Minor Tuscaloosa, Ala; very special friend Angela Grier; Fiancée Jennifer Farmer; and a loving God Father, Herman Porter. Special Thanks to Mrs. Margaret Cook owner of Cook & Cook Insurance Co. Forest Park, Ga. The cortege will assemble at 2141 Springdale Rd., Atlanta, GA at 1:30 p.m. GUS THORNHILL'S FUNERAL HOME INC. 404-768-2993-4.

It hurts me to my heart to know such a great person has left our lives. Lawrence was so caring and giving. I saw so many instances where he would give to people he didn't even know and talk to them like he knew them forever. He never judged people and he always sat and "listened". So I ask that his kids take that one gift from him and LISTEN to the things around you - and if it doesn't sit right - do as Lawrence did and challenge it. He would always say that so many people don't know how to think for themselves and he would ask you with every statement - "WHY? Is that what you feel or is that what someone else feels." Friend Always, Lawrence and comforting wishes to his family.
