Coach Kell was my assistant principal at Etowah High School in Woodstock, GA. I remember he always seemed to be smiling and patting people on the back. His presence was a blessing to me. He just made you feel at home and safe while at school. He inspired me to become a teacher and coach. I even named my son after him. I used to come home from college on the weekends and cut his grass and maintain his yard. He was always so nice and seemed full of wisdom.

Looking at the entries in the Guest Book today, I thought about how shy I was in school and Mr. Kell would call the roll and have us bring our report cards back to the front of the class after the cards had been signed by our parents. He said I would be a cute girl if I would come out of my shell but I did not know a word he said and everyone laughed and one of my friends in the class told me what he said. I wish I could have told him, I came out of my shell eventually once I had ear surgery on both ears when I was 25 years old. I didn't realize I had a hearing problem until I was around 22 or so and then put off the surgery a few years. It brings a smile to my face about what Mr. Kell said after all these years since I had such an inferiority complex. I pray the Lord has brought comfort to the family during this past year and that if they see this, it will bring a smile to their face as it does to mine. God bless!

Coach Kell was head football coach @ Walter F. George HS during the 60's. He was an excellent history teacher and motivator. His teaching and instruction on the field instilled the skills needed to get through life. RIP Coach…

Coach Kell coached the linemen at Brown High School in the late 50's and early 60's and was my coach during that time. He was a true inspiration as a coach and made me a better athlete and person. I will never forget his wisdom for football and life. May he rest in peace.

Coach Kell was not only a good man,but also a tower of srength. As a coach he led, as a teacher he motivated, to succeed in life was my responsibility.
I will never forget the hit he put on me during a blocking drill 60 years ago......I still feel the impact.

Coach Kell was head football coach at Southwest DeKalb when I was an eighth-grader there. He was always friendly and helpful to me and the other eighth-graders, which really thrilled us since he was the football coach and we were the youngest group on campus.
Later, when I became an educator, I had the honor of teaching Chip at Avondale High School. Having a parent-teacher relationship with Coach Kell was as much of a pleasure as knowing him at SWD. My condolences to Chip and all the family. Coach Kell made such a positive difference in our world.
With loving sympathy,

May the Family find comfort from God's Word during this difficult time. The Bible at James 4:8 reminds us, "Draw close to God, and he will draw close to you."
