Mark McWHORTER Obituary
Family-Placed Death Notice
McWHORTER, Mark Mark Joel "SLICK" McWhorter, age 67, passed away Tuesday July 16, 2013. Slick was born April 20, 1946 at Emory Hospital in Atlanta, Ga. He was the son of the late Marcus Pharr McWhorter and Marjorie McDaris McWhorter. A graduate of Tucker High School in 1964, he went on to receive his Bachelors Degree from the University of Georgia. Post graduation, Slick taught and coached both baseball and football at Henderson High School before joining Tucker Concrete Company where he worked with family for 35 years. Slick is survived by his wife of 46 years, Jane Henderson McWhorter; daughter and son-in-law Terri and Billy Henderson; son and daughter-in-law Jeff and Suzanne McWhorter and 5 grandchildren, Janie and William Henderson, Madison, Katie and Max McWhorter. Services will be held Saturday July 20, 2013 at 11:00 AM at Lord & Stephens West Chapel location (1211 Jimmy Daniel Rd. Bogart, Ga. 30622) Visitation will be Friday July 19, 2013 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM. As a proud supporter of Prince Avenue Christian School (2201 Ruth Jackson Rd. Bogart, Ga. 30622) memorial donations may be made in Slick's memory in lieu of flowers. Lord & Stephens West is in charge of arrangements. www.lordandstephens.com
