To Dr. Chan's family my condolences, and please know you are in my prayers. Upon hearing the news last week Friday I was immediately disheartened. I instantly reminisced on the tenets, and experiences and clinical knowledge he imparted towards my development as a young physician. I was always impressed on how he treated his patients: with compassion and respect. Moreover, his fervor towards sharing the love of Messiah with his patients was unprecedented and commendable. I glorify Adonai for the opportunity to have been mentored by one of his elects. Here is one of Dr. Chan's quotes he shared with me. To cure sometimes, to relieve often, to comfort always.

I was referring someone to Dr. Chan today. I called to confirm he was taking new patients and was informed that he had passed. Dr. Chan was an amazing physician and I believe it was partly because of his relationship with God. A lot of doctors treat your physical symptoms. Dr. Chan treated you physically, mentally and spiritually. He understood that having a chronic illness affects so much more than your body. I am so grateful to God for having given me the honor and priviledge to not only know, but to be treated by Dr. Chan. His charm, wit, loving kindness and geniune nature will surely be missed. God bless Dr. Chan and his family. They will remain in my prayers.

Back in June, Dr. Chan was my 90 year old mother's surgeon. I have NEVER met such a kind hearted Christian in my life. What a testimony! I was shocked at his passing. He will be so missed.

My husband Kevin and I were shocked to hear the news of Dr. Chan's passing. As a Crohn's patient, my husband received amazing care from Dr. Chan for many years. We will miss his warm heart, his smile and his sense of humor. He never lacked a good joke to tell us, and you could genuinely tell that he loved what he did. Dr Chan, Stacey and "the big guy" will never forget you. Prayers to the Chan family.

I was stunned to hear of Dr. Chan's passing. What a wonderful, caring man. During a time when my father was in hospice, I was having a bad time with my IBS. He called to reassure me and made me laugh by saying he was going make me the poster child for IBS. You will be missed, Dr Chan. May you rest in peace and God bless you and your family.

My name is Darlene Caffey. Dr. Chan was my doctor, and I cannot tell you what he meant to me. He took such great care of me, and would often call to ensure that I was ok. He was like a father figure to me, and my heart just hurts so badly. He often told me that I was his favorite educator. This meant so much to me. To me, he was the greatest doctor ever!!!!! Thank you so much Dr. Chan, you were simply the best!!! (I really hope that my book, "Sold," gave him encouragement along the way!!!

I was Dr. Chan's patient briefly for an undiagnosed illness that later Dr. Chan diagnosed when no one else could. He saved my life. More importantly, he was the kindest, most personable doctor I ever met. I regret not thanking him or telling him how wonderful he was. I know that the family he left behind has experienced an unimaginable loss. But I hope you will take small comfort in knowing that he saved many lives and comforted many people and in a small way he lives on through his work. I am so sorry of this loss to the world.

I am so sorry to hear of Dr Chan's death. I just heard the news today and it knocked me out. I have only had Dr Chan for a few months but I can definitely say he was the nicest and most caring doctor I have ever had. I am so saddened about that news. It is going to be impossible to replace him as a doctor and as a person. May he rest in peace and his family take comfort in knowing that he is not suffering anymore.

Dr. Chan performed ERCP on me in August 2007 at DMC. He was a superb physician and concurrently a devoted servant of the Great Physician. When he told me he always prayed before doing ERCP, I found wonderful reassurance that I was fortunate to have him performing the procedure. My condolences to his family and the Chinese community he loved.

Dear Jenny, Jamie, Andrew and Chris,

We are so sorry to hear of your loss of your dear husband--what a loss to you and to this world. He was first, and foremost, a caring and devoted Christian and father and husband. Secondly, he was such a wonderful doctor devoting himself to giving excellent care to his patients. You and your family hold such special memories to me and I will be praying often for you and that the God of ALL peace will hold you near and grant you peace and strength in the days to come! October 11, 2013

Dr Chan spread a light of hope and cheer. He brought joy to his patients and eased their pain. His time was spent not only in making a living, but also in making a difference. That is why his living was not in vain and he will be greatly missed by all whose lives he touched.

October 11, 2013

So sorry to hear of the passing of Dr.Chan. He taught me how to be a GI tech when I first started years ago. One of my last days working with him before he moved to GA we snared a polyp. lol and it was a challenge to catch the poly with our snare and retrieve it. WE WERE FISHING. As we always talked about deep sea fishing adventures. I will never forget this kind humorous man. He loved GOD his family and his patients more than life. May he rest now in our fathers arms. And may the family know he is at peace with our Father in HEAVEN!

October 11, 2013

We were blessed to have Dr. Chan as our doctor. Roland had serious complications from a gallbladder surgery in 2006 and he took over his care. We always felt it was God's intervention and knew that God guided him with every decison! What a GREAT doctor and Christian man! We already miss him, but know he is home with his Father and we are at peace. Prayer to his family!

It is still difficult to come to terms that you have passed on. You had a warm kind heart and an open hand to welcome anyone who came your path. We were a family and will always remain so. Your wife is so sweet and warm so are your kids. You always had the time to fellowship. You were missed when you left lakeland but now words cannot express the void that you have left behind. May the perfect Lord shine HIS love on those you have left behind. Rest in. Peace noble friend.

I was a patient of Dr. Chan's at DGA and I will miss him. He was a caring, personable, great listener, and so funny. The first time he did a procedure on me, he told my husband afterwards, humorously, that I could not do housework for six months. it was a simple medical procedure. My husband thought he was serious because he never met Dr. Chan beforehand. I had to explain it was all done in fun. I so enjoyed watching Dr. Chan pull one over on my husband. God bless all of his family at this time as you deal with your loss. he will be missed by many.
