James CADY Obituary

CADY, II, James Wilkinson James Wilkinson Cady II, "Jay", age 71 of Hiram, GA passed away Thursday, December 8, 2016. Memorial service will be Sunday, January 8, 2017 at 2 pm in the chapel of Carmichael Funeral Home in Smyrna, GA. Jay was born in Jacksonville, FL. He graduated high school from Battle Ground Academy in Franklin, TN. He attended Washington and Lee University in Lexington, VA where he found his love of acting and was recruited by the School of Drama at Yale University in Hartford, CT. At Yale, he completed his studies in acting and received The Certificate in Drama. He went on to receive a Bachelor of Fine Arts at Montevallo University, Montevallo, AL. For many years Jay was active in local theater companies in Mobile, AL, Atlanta, GA and Conway, SC as an actor and as a director. He also performed in numerous summer stock productions including the Alabama Shakespeare Festival. Jay retired from a career with Social Security in Baltimore, MD in 2014 and relocated to Hiram, GA. He is survived by his mother, Dorothy Cady Hudspeth, brother Chris Cady, and sister Jessica Cady Dobrowolski (Joe).
