Stanley COHEN Obituary

COHEN, Stanley B. Stanley Burton Cohen, age 73, died Sunday June 18, 2017 from complications of cancer. Mr. Cohen was survived by his wife of 49 years, Shirley Lefko Cohen; children: Angie and Shawn Janko, Todd and Ellen Cohen; grandchildren: Charlie, Katie and Jack Janko, Blake and Zanden Cohen. He was predeceased by his grandson, Zachary Raider Cohen of Blessed Memory. Also, he was survived by his brother, Leon (Judy) Cohen; brother, Ronnie (Judy) Cohen and sister-in-law Tanya (Ed) Rosenblatt. Mr. Cohen was born and raised in Atlanta, the youngest son of Louis and Sarah Cohen, of blessed memory. He attended Tulane University and received his undergraduate and master's degrees from Georgia State University and his Doctorate of Jurisprudence degree from Emory University Law School. He held several professional designations and employment positions including: CPA, Attorney, IRS Agent, CLU, securities, insurance and real estate licenses. He founded Advisory Services Ltd., a professional financial and investment advisory firm in 1974 and served as president until his retirement in 1999. He was past president of Temple Sinai. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Temple Sinai (The Cohen Endowment Fund), 5645 Dupree Drive, Atlanta, GA 30327.www.templesinaiatlanta.org. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday June 21, 2017 at Temple Sinai with burial to follow at Arlington Memorial Park. Rabbi Ron Segal, Rabbi Brad Levenberg, and Cantor Beth Schafer of Temple Sinai will officiate. Arrangements by Dressler's Jewish Funeral Care. 770-451-4999.

Stanley & Shirley have been our next door neighbors for the last 34 years. You could not find dearer neighbors, people and friends. We will miss our dear friend Stanley! Shirley, Todd, Ellen, Angie, Shawn, Ronnie and Judy we send our deepest sympathies at this difficult time. He has left us all with wonderful memories!
