Robert Clem Obituary

Robert (Mike) Clem, age 68, passed away on Jan. 27, 2012 after a 3 and one half year battle with cancer. He died in his home in Rockport, Texas with his wife, Judy, by his side. Mike was born in Creston on Feb. 22, 1943.
He and his family moved to Atlantic in 1972 when he joined the Atlantic Police Department. He served on the force for 10 years working his way through the ranks to the position of Assistant Police Chief. He then owned and operated The Sportsman sporting goods store and The Hawkeye Motel. He was later employed by Henningson Construction. Mike and Judy then moved to Rockport, Texas in 1999, where his lifelong dream of owning and operating an RV Park was fulfilled.
He was preceded in death by his parents Robert and Helen Clem. He leaves behind his wife of almost 50 years, Judy; four children, Robyn (Mike) Masso of McAllen, Texas, Tracy Montgomery of Norwood, Minn., Larry Clem of Nixa, Mo., Matt (Mindy) Clem of McAllen, Texas; and 16 grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held in Rockport, Texas on Saturday, Feb. 4.
