Allen Leon Kemp

Allen Kemp of Auburn, CA passed away June 25, 2009, at the age of 62, with his daughter and wife by his side, and in the company of good friends, Peggy and Steve Spurrier, after a long and on going fight with cancer.
Allen was the much loved son of Beatrice Kemp and late father Russell Kemp of Aurora, CO.
He is survived by his wife Anne, his daughter Caitlin, son Danny, son-in-law Theodore, brother Lonnie Kemp, sister- in-law Joan Kemp, nieces Stacey and Shannon, nephew Brad, and the loves of his life, his granddaughters, Bianca & Justyne.
Allen was a well known musician, lead guitarist and song- writer. He was a founding member of Rick Nelson's Stone Canyon Band and a long time member of the New Riders of the Purple Sage. His musical legacy will always live on through the on going efforts of his close friend, Gary Procknow of Vancouver, B.C., currently directing a music and film project commeorating Allen's music and life. He is dearly loved and greatly missed by all those who knew him. We will forever keep him in our hearts.
A private service will be held for family and friends.
