Not sure what to say?

Great lead guitarist of the Stone Canyon Band. Loved his riffs and background vocals. Will pray that he's with the Lord Jesus. RIP+ Allen.

Allen and I grew up together in Colorado. Our parents were good friends but we didn't get to know each other really well at that time. We got to know each other better later in life and I was lucky enough to see him perform with Ricky Nelson and on other occasions. . He was a fine man and an excellent musician. When I heard that he passed away I was truly truly sad. Even as I write this message I wonder how life goes by and we lose touch with people that we were close to. I won't ever...

Allen was with Rick Nelson, the 1st time I saw Rick, at The Bitter End in NYC.
I can't beleive he is gone. I never forgot his name. He will be missed and left us too soon!!
My condolences to his family.

Today, as I have on July 31st for nearly forty years, I thought about my friend and smiled. He always had and always will have a place in my heart. Allen was special. He was thoughtful, loving, funny and also wise beyond his years. He had an old soul that you could see when looking into his eyes. Although we had not talked with each other for a long time, there is no doubt that we would have picked up right where we left off the last time. He loved his family and spoke about them with pride....

Allen was a man of grace, dignity and nobility, and I've always considered it one of the privileges of my life that I got to see him play and that we were "good acquaintances" during his years with NRPS. He was a model of professionalism, greatly admirable for the care and feeling he put into his music.

A Poem For Allen -
Play your favorite melody
Sing your best song
The Journey home will not be long
You lived through your music
You found love unconditional
The journey you take now is merely transitional
Through the people who love you, You will always exist In our memories you live on like a fine gentle mist
Watch over us Allen, while you play in the clouds. We'll meet you at home when we are allowed. Free from all worry and pain. No need to...

We will miss Allen stopping by the shop on his daily walks. We are glad that we had the opportunity to get to know him and his family.

Uncle Allen was the person that sparked the love of music that I have today. I grew up listening to all of his music and started playing guitar because of him. To me he was always larger than life and it was always a special time when I got to speak with him on the phone or see him when he came through Denver. I was glad that I got to know him better when he lived in Colorado and was happy that he got to see my band play. He was a kind and thoughtful person and I will miss him.

Uncle Allen will always hold a special spot in my heart. I remember when I was little sitting next to the stereo with my ear to the speaker listening to him sing. Dancing with papa and thinking how great he was.
He is up in heaven smiling down on all of his family.
Lots of love,

Shannon Kemp, Denver, Colorado
