Beatrice R. Basile Colavito

AUBURN | Beatrice R. Basile Colavito, 94, of Center Street, Auburn, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her loving family, Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2013, which was the same day of their wedding anniversary, marking 70 beautiful years of marriage together with her husband Samuel. She was born on June 17, 1918, the daughter of Nicholas and Mary Christopher Basile, and had been a life resident. Beatrice worked at both Dunn & McCarthy Shoe Company and also the Singer Company for several years. She loved to cook and bake and especially enjoyed the daily visits for breakfast at Lewis's Restaurant with her husband. Beatrice also loved the many beautiful and stylish hats that she often wore. She is survived by her loving husband of 70 years, Samuel Colavito, of Auburn; three children, twin daughters Jacklynn (Richard) Gagliardi. of Auburn. and Johanna (Frank) Pastore. of Bedford, N.H., a son, Richard (Cathy) Colavito, of Auburn; six grandchildren, Jason and Christopher Colavito, Thomas Gagliardi, Rick (Gina) Gagliardi, Nicki (Jim) Keene, Jackie (Steve) LaRose; a sister, Norene Baulick, of Auburn; six great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents, Beatrice was predeceased by four sisters and two brothers. There are no calling hours. A private service and burial in St. Joseph's Cemetery was held Friday at the convenience of the family. Contributions may be made in Beatrice's memory to Hospice of the Finger Lakes, 1130 Corporate Drive, Auburn, NY 13021. Arrangements are by Pettigrass Funeral Home.
