Christa Revnes Obituary

TIBURON, Calif. - Christa Anthony Antonopoulos Revnes, 71, of Tiburon and San Francisco, CA, passed away peacefully Tuesday, February 3rd, 2015, in Tiburon with her daughters, Laurie and Stephanie by her side. A memorial service will be held at Fernwood Cemetery, 301 Tennessee Valley Rd., Mill Valley, CA. on February 21st at 1:00pm with Father Richard G. Gustafson of St. Hillary's Church officiating. A small reception will be held afterward. Christa was born in Augusta, GA to George and Martha Antonopoulos on June 20th, 1943. She attended high school at the Academy of Richmond County and graduated in 1961; she went on to earn a BS in education from the University of Georgia in 1965. After graduation she moved to San Francisco and for a short time worked in a management training program at I. Magnin. Soon thereafter she was offered the coveted position of a flight attendant for World Airways, a company specializing in charter flights for the military and corporations. It was there she met her husband and love of her life, Richard Revnes, AKA Rev. They married in 1967 in Augusta, Georgia, and moved to Chicago where, in 1968, the first of three daughters (Laurie) was born. They then moved to Marblehead, MA and had two more children (Carmen and Stephanie). In 1972, Christa and her young family moved back to California and built their home in Tiburon, residing there until 1987. It was then that she finally purchased her dream home atop 2100 Green Street in Cow Hollow, one of the loveliest penthouses in San Francisco. Christa pursued everything with passion. She was an avid painter using Old Masters' techniques and had several successful art shows. She was a singer, songwriter, pianist, guitarist, poet, and greeting card writer for Hallmark Cards. In the 1990's she was President of the San Francisco Ballet Auxiliary, and opening night and fashion show chairwoman of the same. Christa and Richard, who was President of Royal Cruise Lines, traveled the world together many times over, enjoying each other and their travel adventures above all else in life. She will always be remembered for her wit, strength, beauty, talent and endless charm. Christa is preceded in death by her husband Richard, her grandson Cody, her baby brother George Gene and her parents, George and Martha. Christa is survived by her daughters Laurie Landsness of Mill Valley, CA, and Carmen McGovern and Stephanie Badalato, both of Los Angeles, CA; six grandchildren: Brandon, Tanner, Nicholas, Madison, George and Mackenzie; three stepchildren: Barbara Stockstill of Honolulu, HI; Diane Revnes Moore of Seattle, WA, and Michael Revnes of Athens, GA; three siblings: Connie Webster of Highland Park, NJ, Buddy Antonopoulos of Palm Beach Gardens, FL, and Teddy Antonopoulos of Santa Rosa, CA, and numerous nieces and nephews. Christa - The epitome of all things beautiful: Style. fabulous wit, generosity, creativity, and best of all - lots and lots of laughter. Golden times with that fabulous lady and her beloved Rev. I am grateful that they are finally reunited. I think my Richie and Rev have been waiting patiently for her.

Christa was the essence of style and grace. My husband, John, and I enjoyed her friendship immensely. We are sure she's in heaven atop a grand piano singing a clever song with her adoring Rev cheering her on. Love you Christa!
