William Weitzel Obituary
Mr. Weitzel was born and raised in Cleveland, OH. He was a graduate of Baldwin Wallace College where he was a track star. He earned his Master's from Chicago University. He was a counter intelligence agent in the United States Army in Germany during the Korean Conflict. He retired from Westinghouse where he worked as a manager. He and his wife managed the LaQuinta Hotel in Augusta for many years. Mr. Weitzel was an active member of St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church where he was in the choir and a member of the Terence Cardinal Cooke Council of the Knights of Columbus 8495.
Family members, in addition to his wife, include his son: Pete Weitzel and his wife Mary.
A memorial Mass will be held Thursday, December 7, 2017 at 2:00 P.M. in the chapel at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church with Fr. Mike Ingram celebrant. The family will receive friends following the service at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the St. Vincent DePaul Health Clinic, 432 8th St, Augusta, GA 30901.

Carolyn, my prayers and thoughts are with you and your family during this very sad time. Bill was such a fine gentleman. He will be missed by many but we are at peace knowing he is with the Lord.
