Jenny Bunn Obituary

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Jenny Wood Kimbrel Bunn died peacefully at her home on Tuesday July 6, 2010. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Monroe Kimbrel, and her brother, Charles Daniel Kimbrel. Jenny was born in Atlanta, Georgia on November 27, 1945. She grew up in Thomson, Georgia and graduated from Converse College in 1967. She received her master's degree in special education from Georgia State University in 1969 and taught special education in Winston-Salem for several years. She married her devoted husband, James A. Bunn III, on August 2, 1969 and has lived in Winston-Salem for forty-one years. Jenny was a member of Centenary United Methodist Church. She was actively involved in her community and she valued her many friendships. She was a member of the Winston-Salem Junior League and the Friends of Brookgreen Gardens, and she was a past board member of Summit School, Horizons Residential Care Center, and The Children's Theater. Jenny was twice chairman of the Antiques Show to benefit Brenner Children's Hospital as well as chairman of the Winterlark gala to benefit the Wake Forest University Cancer Patient Support Program. She was serving on the Brenner Children's Hospital Advisory Board and the Wake Forest University Comprehensive Cancer Center Regional Advisory Board at the time of her death. In addition to service, Jenny had a lifetime passion for travel. She is survived by her husband, two daughters and sons-in-law: Kimbrel Bunn Morris and her husband, Trip, in Charlotte, NC, and Jane Bunn Saunders 'Teebie' and her husband, Jamie, in San Francisco, CA. Her most special love was for her three grandsons, Charles Lewis Morris, Alexander James Morris, and George Monroe Saunders. The Memorial Service will be held at Centenary United Methodist Church on Saturday, July 10 at 11 a.m. The family will receive friends at her home immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Centenary United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 658, 27102; Derrick L. Mr. Jim:
I am terribly sorry to read of Mrs. Jenny's passing, but I know you will forever have a dear Angel next to you, and looking out for you, for the rest of your life (as you ALWAYS HAVE).
I did not get the chance to meet her that many times, but when I did, she was the truly one of the most amazing women; the sweetest kindest woman, with the purest heart.
