Phillip Shirley Obituary

LADSON, S.C. - Phillip Edward Shirley, 62, of Ladson, SC, passed away Saturday, February 21, 2015 at Ralph H. Johnson VA Medical Center. A Graveside Service will be held Tuesday afternoon, March 3, 2015 at 1 o'clock at Garden of Devotion Cemetery, 300 S. Georgetown Hwy., Johnsonville, SC 29555. Visitation will be Monday evening from 6-8 o'clock at Parks Funeral Home. Flowers will be accepted, or memorials may be made in Phillip's name, c/o Parks Funeral Home, 130 West 1st N. St., Summerville, SC 29483. Phillip was born August 28, 1952 in Greenfield, IN, the son of Edward Lee Shirley and Juanita June Rychman Shirley. He was a truck driver. He was President of the Augusta Lions Club, a former Deacon at Wildwood Christian Church, and a member of New Beginnings Christian Church. Survivors include his wife, Beverly Shirley of Ladson; father, Edward Shirley of Sumter; one stepdaughter, Emilee Cox-Race (William) of Lake City; two brothers, Jeffrey Shirley (Alice) of Indiana, and Steve Shirley (Cindy) of Sumter; three step-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
