Dorothy Passmore Obituary

AUGUSTA, Ga. - Mrs. Dorothy "Big Dot" Passmore was born March 8, 1936 in Emanuel County to the late Horace Oglesby and Matilda Roberts. She went home to her heavenly father on January 17, 2016 at Doctors Hospital. She was a member of Mt. Tabor A.M.E Church. Dorothy was a devoted and dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and friend to all. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 23, 2016 at 11:00a.m. at Mt. Tabor A.M.E. Church of Keysville, GA, Rev. Gerald Caldwell, officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. She leaves to cherish her husband Joe Clifford Passmore and her children Joe (Delene) Roberts (Atlanta), Diane Johnson, Eugene Roberts, Melvin Roberts, and Elaine Passmore (all of Augusta). Her sisters Evelyn Cook (Atlanta, GA), Vivian Williams (Douglasville, GA) Carrie Oglesby (Richmond Hill, GA), and Elizabeth Murray (Brooklyn, NY) 17 grandchildren, a host of great grandchildren, great- great grandchildren, and other relatives and friends. Grandma i think about u all the time, u were the foundation of this family, the matriarch of our legacy and love of many of our lives, alot of us have ways just like u in some fashion form or way, rather its thru bloodline or simple habits picked up from just being around u, u had an tremendous effect on alot of people and u are truly missed, i could go on about the lives you've impacted and personally my feelings for u but u already know so I'll keep it simple and i know i speak for everyone when i say rest in peace grandma.....u were one helluva woman.... I remember the times when Ms. Dot would press my sister's and my hair when we were growing up, and the many joyous occasions that our families and my auntie Lena's family would share during the Summer seasons. Prayers and condolences are extended to each family member at this most difficult time.
