Kleinstiver, Eric
Eric Lewis Kleinstiver, born in Michigan, passed away at age 70 at St. Joseph 's Trauma Center. Eric is survived by his wife, Louise; son Shawn and wife Janice and grandchildren, Zoe, Foster, and Lisa; son Keith and spouse Felipe; former daughter-in-law Sharon Prochello and husband Marc and daughter Mia. He leaves a sister, Beth Narva (Will) of Littleton, CO and brother Wayne (Barbara) of Vero Beach, FL. He cared deeply about his family. Eric loved young people and was dedicated to their wellbeing and education, guiding them as a teacher and coach at White River, Safford and Osborn school districts in Arizona and Yakima High School in Yakima, Washington. He then was a principal and Superintendent of Schools in Arizona at Bagdad, Wellton and Florence school districts. He earned his Master's degree in Special Education and a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Northern Arizona University. He was an advocate for young people. He proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1963-1967. His grandson, Foster, and granddaughter, Zoe, follow in his military footsteps. Eric was an avid golfer, hiker, outdoorsman and great thinker. He loved the challenges of new places, new ideas and meeting
new people. A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, July 4th at 1PM at Thompson's Valley West Funeral Chapel located at 926 S. Litchfield Road, Goodyear AZ, 85338. Contributions may be made to your local YMCA in Eric's name.

I was so sorry to hear of Eric's untimely passing. What an awful accident! Along with the other entries here, I am also a Colo Springs HS classmate of Eric's. He was always a wonderful person, so full of energy. We have a thread in common as my family has helped the Colo Springs YMCA since the 1890's. My sympathy and prayers are with all of you.
