I was so sorry to read about the passing of uncle George. He was a sweet man who truly loved his music. I saw him about 16 years ago when my daughter & I visited AZ. I tried to keep intouch with a newsletter or Christmas card over the years. Two months ago my newsletter was returned. After a little research, I found his death notice. May God continue to comfort you all.

Grandpa, I have spent the last 4 days watching the dvd's that dad had made of your old films. Wow there were some great trips and the family looks so happy. I'm impressed with all the places you had been. It made me think alot about whats important in life, and that is make sure that you spend quality time with your family and make as many memories as you can, because you cant get tommorrow back. Miss ya gramps, Love ya too.

Grandpa,
I can only begin with a thank you. Thank you for taking me in as a child and raising me as one of your own.I have alot of memories from Taylor street. I feel very privleged to have grown up there. I remember riding on your motorcycle as a kid. Going to the Pera Club. I remember on saturdays Kevin and I would be able to go to Kmart and pcik out a toy. The trips yearly to cut down our Christmas tree. That was always fun. Traveling to California was the best. I am thankful that God set you aside to be my Grandpa, I don't think I could have asked for a better one. It's going to be hard having you and Grandma both gone, I feel like both my parents are gone. But it gives me comfort knowing that you are with Grandma now. I will keep your memory alive by sharing stories about you..and I can carry on one of your favorite phrases by asking people "where are ya from" if you'd like. Until I see you again..thanks for sharing your life with me...I love you.

I was so sad to hear of Uncle George's passing. My thoughts will be with the family today, I wish I could be there in person with you.
I think my most vivid memory of Uncle George is the time our family was in Phoenix over the 4th of July and Uncle George invited us all out to celebrate with your family at a country club, I think it was. It was a great time for a country girl and I loved every minute of it and have never forgotten it! I also remember him taking photos at family gatherings. I have one that he took a long time ago at your house, I think Dale and Ruth had just had their first child, so that tells you how long ago it was! Great memories!

Dad It's hard to believe your gone. But I know your ok. As you celebrate with Mom, Daniel, Grandma, and Grandpa. Let them know we're all ok. Don't forget to look in on us every so often. If you think were getting a little out of line, remember there is always a pair of boots around and I know I don't have to tell you what to do with them. I miss you Dad.

George brought a lot of joy to the seniors who attended the Thursday dances at the Sunnyslope Community Center. He was their favorite and everyone loved him. He will be greatly missed. My mother Billie, who passed away in 2005, would not miss a dance. How she loved him and his little 'mascot'. I miss you too George. You may be gone from us here on earth, but you and your music will live on in our hearts. My prayers go out to you; family and friends.

My family has known George for many years. My father Syd Rhodes and my mother who passed away 2 years ago, Roberta. I remember George talking about the prayer thing in his pocket that my mother gave him. I remember seeing him play at the hall when I was living with them. We know now that George is playing with a new band in heaven and will show mom the pocket thing was still with him even after she left us.

It's hard to believe that this generation's branch of the Mills family tree is now gone. I was fortunate to have spent some time with Uncle George and Mary over the holidays. Among other things, I shared with him my gratitude for the huge part he played in motivating my parents' move to Phoenix. May he rest in peace, knowing what a difference he's made in the many lives he has touched. May God grant peace and comfort to all his loved ones.

We have fond memories of George from back when he played music at the German American Club. My mother and father danced to his music as did my husband(s) and I. We continued to see him through the years especially when Mary became his companion.
